A Few of our Favorite Home Tours from 2016...

At Spruce + Furn, we love getting inspiration and ideas from home tours. And 2016 brought us plenty of inspiration!

And while we (of course) have our own personal styles, we love to absorb as many different types of interior design styles + methods as we can get our hands on because we don't just design to our taste - our goal is to design spaces that match our clients' design preferences (as well as their personalities, lifestyles and aspirations).

As you can imagine, our list of favorite homes is quite long. However, we've tried to compile a few of our favorite looks that span different types of homes, design styles, rooms and budgets.

From a sophisticated spin on the 70’s, to a breezy beach house, to a Brooklyn townhome, to a modern eclectic loft, here are images and links to just a few of our favorite home tours from 2016:

Pulling off a sophisticated 70's vibe that lacks any kitschy-ness can be difficult, but we love how designer Stephen Shadley elegantly wove together colors, textures and shapes that are distinctly 70's but feel modern. Click the image above to …

Note: This beautiful home tour of Jennifer Aniston's Beverly Hills Residence was posted online in September 2016, but was originally printed in 2010. Does it count as 2016? We say yes, because we missed this issue!

We just love a fireplace as a focal point.  Especially a light, neutral fireplace that serves to both create drama and spread a feeling of calmness at the same time. The designer on this project, Amanda Barnes, carried this relaxed, zen-like vibe throughout the home by mixing quiet, coastal colors with rich textures and subtle pops of color and pattern.  Worth a peek if you're looking to add relaxing elements to your home.
